Links Related To Our Essay "Recorrecting Visual Imbalance"

So as we are always trying to share with our patrons the most juicy and valuable info for living LIFE, our essay “Recorrecting Visual Imbalance” highlights that like many health issues, myopia is actually something we can work to reduce, if not cure, by our own life habits. The prescription eyeglass industry doesn’t want you to know this, as its a 100 billion dollar a year monopoly by basically one company called Luxottica which owns Ray-Ban, Essilor, Persol, Oakley, LensCrafters, OPSM, Sunglass Hut, Apex by Sunglasshut, Eyemed, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Glasses.com, Onesight, and Target Optical with the express aim of selling lenses to their customer base at the most inflated markups in all of commerce.

Higherside Chats Discussion which peels a bit more of this ugly scab back - https://www.thehighersidechats.com/jake-steiner-ending-myopia-the-deceptive-eye-care-industry-active-focus/

***Here’s the secret sauce company held from being mention directly in the essay which is called Payne Glasses. They take the “pain” out of paying exorbitant overpriced fees for eyewear by being a smaller company outside of the Luxottica monopoly. We recently ordered multiple pairs of glasses from them and we’re incredibly impressed with the quality for such reasonable prices. They are based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and service the USA and Canada.

For you international folks out there, please advise if you have more information on this subject related to how this works in your neck of the woods.

Alt C

The following site gives links to all the videos being censored off YouTube. In order by date of removal.

In no way do we condone very polarizing and fear based content. Much of which these banned videos are and most of which is of course junk. Yet, there’s a few things I’m seeing time to time that do show to be truthful.

Scrolling through the site without even watching anything is a good research exercise to tell what type of material is getting the axe. For one can see clear trends and patterns form when doing so.

*Also, a reminder all of our works lie undiscovered at our Vimeo channel here: https://vimeo.com/channels/auroralab

The saying "they don't make them like they used to" is due to planned obsolescence.

A purposefully implemented strategy by a manufacturer that ensures the current version of their product will become out-of-date or useless within a pre-planned time period. Achieved through cultivating desirability of new versions of the product over older versions.

This guarantees that zombie consumers will fall for the trick of frequently purchasing replacements, thus conflating artificial demand and the additional lining of corporate pockets while leveraging our children's future on margin by amplifying the raping the Earth’s resources.

Developing a trade, otherwise known as a skill, to fix complex or even simple machines will never become obsolete. Planned obsolescence itself will become obsolete.

The Dreadlock Dude who Coined the Term Virtual Reality

download.jpeg

Jaron Lanier is great. His outer shell appears to initially be that of a homeless hippy, but he’s actually a computer technology philosopher / writer and musician. Being an old school staple of Silicon Vally, he’s also considered a founder of the field of virtual reality and is credited with having coined the term.

He’s similar to Terrence McKenna in the since that he travels and does talks, usually starting by playing some sort of weird obscure Eastern instrument. His speaking is of course related to the subject matter of his books which focus on the pros and cons of the modern technological internet and how it effects society.

One of my favorite things about him is his constant flying of red flags regarding “social media”. Having personally been a former insider, he is now very critical of the big data monster and the grave errors it adapted during its initial construction. Being an advertising based business model which is secretly all about data collection of users to provide information to third parties. Accurately calling:

Advertisers = Manipulators
Big Tech Companies = The Behavior Modification Empires
Engagement = Addiction

He’s on all three of my lists:

1) Potential future podcast guest
2) Potential future essay content
3) Potential future documentary collaboration

Documentary Recommendation - Yasuni Man

yasuni_man-388070025-large.jpeg

Yasuni National Park is a massive swath of (mostly) still pristine rainforest in Ecuador. It’s said to be one of the, if not THE most bio-diverse section of rainforest on the planet. Mainly because it checks all three boxes of being right on the equator, edge of the Andies Mountains, and is in the Amazon basin.

The documentary film “Yasuni Man” is said to show a desperate struggle between conservationists and oil, as the indigenous peoples living in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon struggle to preserve their way of life against encroaching resource extracting Capitalist modernity. Filmmaker + biologist Ryan Patrick Killackey documents both the staggering biodiversity of the Yasuni region at risk of destruction alongside the Waorani people who call it home.

Terra Incognita (Private) Teaser Trailer

Here’s a teaser trailer for our BONKERS project Terra Incognita.

It’s so beyond bonkers actually my attitude on it is to eventually, in some future time, quietly release it with none of the person’s who can bee seen on screen names mentioned outside of a likely “directed by Niles Heckman” ego title. Then never speak about it publicly to anyone. Perhaps just letting people find it on their own and be confused yet intrigued after having witnessed it. Then perhaps eventually one day Vice may do a story on “This one-of-a-kind, never been filmed before, weird occult film” which no one knows anything about and also can’t tell if it’s documentary or science fiction.

More info for you core folks in due course. :)

The Works of a Female Metaphysician - Florence Scovel Shinn

Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that examines the fundamental nature of reality. We like to also add to that definition and say it’s higher consciousness scientific method which many have yet to discover.

Photo_Florence_Scovel_Shinn.jpeg

Florence Scovel Shinn was widely known for many years as an artist and illustrator, metaphysician and lecturer, and as having apparently helped many people through her work of healing and assisting in solving their problems.

In terms of her own original metaphysical content, she wrote only 4 to 5 books, two of which were published posthumously. They are very similar in feel to the wonderful Neville Goddard, with common use of the traditional orthodoxy words “God” and even “Jesus” but not in the external corporal passing judgment dogmatic way. Instead from an esoteric perspective of how these are elements of mentality. Thus, her world is categorized under the “new thought” umbrella much of which talks about the power of affirmations. Most New Thought we like and of course say that even if it were to all be rubbish and one de-coupled the spiritual aspects, it’s still great mental exercise in positivity and being proactive in our day to day “goings ons”.

Skeptiko Podcast #488

Alex Tsakiris has published the podcast I pre-shared over at Skeptiko at these two coordinates:

skeptiko-488-niles-heckman.jpg

https://skeptiko.com/niles-heckman-modern-shamans-dmt-488/
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Nzzjv2VEI8

His e-mail to inform it had been published reads:

Niles, it was absolutely great having this rough-and-tumble :-) dialogue with you. you're doing great work and I can't wait to see what you come up with next all the best, Alex

So all good and another share in the bucket list.

Sometime podcast titles such as this one “DMT FROM MEXICAN TOADS” are a little blunt and upfront. I would tend to lean a bit more subtile and vague with storefront marquee titles, but all good.

NilesHeckman_BringingRitualIntoMeditation_v005.jpg

While I have you here, continuing pardons on our somewhat slow drip nature getting my own content published. If you’re coming in new to our members section, I must say it’s not usually THIS SLOW in terms of creation. As I’m often releasing a couple essays a month and we haven’t released a public one for over a few months now. Continuing blame lands on my house re-boot completion work which has, to be honest, been very overwhelming. We’re starting to move into the house which is progress but certain rooms are still construction sites and will continue needing the majority of my time day in and day out for at least the next couple months as we finish final details. As most of our work always lies in the 1’s and 0’s of cyberspace, building things in the flesh in the material does have great reward.

Regarding upcoming members content, there’s a new extended podcast about to drop next week and on the essay front we’re nearly complete with a couple that we will leave exclusive for you fine folks. We’ve also been working on the next stand alone extended essay / short audio book entitled “Bringing Ritual Into Meditation” much like our “Traveling Through The Ninth Gate.” Which I will of course be giving away to you fine folks freely the moment it’s ready.

Outside of these boring and soon to be dated updates, thanks so much if you’re mainly about supporting our overarching body of work regardless of payback output. Through all of life’s many challenges, may 2021 continue bringing you good fortune.

Discernment in an Age of The “Success Within Commerce” Mindset

Jack Canfield is a modern version of a new thought writer + speaker. Putting forth more main stream accepted idea such as the law of attraction and visualization for manifestation. He’s had large “success” within commerce, having written the book(s) Chicken Soup for the Soul which have sold zillions of copies.

He’s also a motivational speaker. Being a man in a suit who does the talk show, corporate seminar, graduation ceremony tour. His work is somewhat sanctioned by the machine because it doesn’t really rock the boat of Empire - Since Empire is also catered to having all its non-base Maslow Hierarchy of Needs inhabitants (slaves) go solely after a success within the commercial marketplace mindset. While that’s not un-important, it is ultimately a reduction because its underlying foundational goal is what real occultists would call “climbing the ladder of mundane life”. This Oprah / Chopra spirituality has some decent expansive things mixed with that not so expansive thing. Keeping this important detail in mind and using our discernment, here’s one of Jack’s speaking talks which does have some good advice such as specific details for goal setting.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/l7k0ahbo78m83hh/JackCanfieldSpeaking.mp3/

In terms of “success in life” our personal work advocates just becoming time rich within commerce in order to achieve independence, yet if one becomes financially wealthy as well then, fair enough.

Tangentially Speaking Episode 460 With Chris Ryan

Internet gnomes have published an epic chat we had over at the podcast Tangentially Speaking here - https://chrisryanphd.com/460-niles-heckman-documentarian-photographer-essayist/

1200x1200bb.jpg

The host Chris Ryan is great. He does the author + podcaster thing and even though it seems like everyone is a “New York Times Bestselling Author” these days, he really is one for his book Sex at Dawn.

We have a mutual friend Judy Campbell who’s company is at Campbell Consulting (https://campbellconsulting.com/) who has been helping Rak Razam and I with outreach for the show because she’s an amazing gal and also a burner (someone who goes to Burning Man) chick who’s secretly on the wavelength. She originally contacted Chris about potentially having us talk with him when we finished the second episode of the show in early March of 2020 right as Covid was hitting the shit fan.

The irony is Chris never got back to us then but did about a year later to another mutual friend of ours, Jarad Blowatt. Chris admits in the intro he was a bit on the fence because of misconceptions about the series, but I know that he ended up being really stoked to have the conversation because he kept wanting to talk, which is always a good sign.

Some James Allen Audiobooks

A chat today with a friend of the show brought up the name Jame Allen - a British philosophical writer who’s works could be said to be within the literary movement of “New Thought.”

I’m quite fond of Allen’s writings and have revisited them numerous times over the years. Here are some of his highlights, which never seem to get old.

Skeptiko Pre-Flight

Below is pre-released audio of me chatting with Alex Tsakiris over at the podcast Skeptiko regarding Shamans of the Global Village - https://skeptiko.com/

This was recorded in early December of 2020 for the podcast over there and who know’s when he’ll publicly release it.

Alex was a successful entrepreneur turned podcaster. His podcast has been around since 2007, much of the discussions of which focus on the science of human consciousness. The podcast name Skeptiko comes from the ancient Greek philosophy of Skeptikos, and refers to the teachings and the traits of a school of philosophers who sought “inquiry to perpetuate doubt.” He also wrote a book called “Why Science is Wrong… About Almost Everything” the thesis of which states that since mainstream science doesn’t get consciousness right, everything from that point on is also off. Which I agree upon since everything is consciousness based.

He’s definitely not an easy going host. As he can be very argumentative to the point of having full on fights and blowouts with guests. He’s almost an ambush interviewer and his show to be honest can be a bit of a mind field to be a guest on. So much to the point that I would caveat a few of these details to anyone else who consulted with me regarding potentially talking to Alex. He had me fill out a pre-podcast conversation form, which got me thinking about the difference between big scale science and small scale science. A theme that I’ve talked about in terms of big religion vs small religion, big government vs small government, and big corporations vs small businesses so I dove into that in the conversation. Some thing I said in that monologue triggered him in this chat and he definitely was confrontational as a result and I didn’t really get to through line the point. Which is ironic because the previous episode he posted before our chat was titled “Trigger Proof Warrior.” But it’s all good and I wish him nothing but the best. Alex supported the show (Shamans of the Global Village) by purchasing both episodes, and it’s nice of him to give it a bit of a spotlight with the guest interview. Which I will post whenever he releases it publicly but here’s the private early pre-flight.
