Making this film was nothing but joy. I give huge credit to my friend and colleague Neil Kramer for this. Basically he and I made this movie, so he's usually the sole person on screen for it while I'm the sole person directing him as well as the guy behind the camera. Gorilla Indie filmmaking all the way. Making a passion project together and most importantly always being proactive and easy going with one another - which these outtakes give a preview and flavor of. No matter how much budget projects get in the future, I will always try and keep the crews as small as possible and thus keep the pressures as low as possible as well. It doesn't mean it's not hard work, quite the opposite in fact as less people have to play more roles. However, uphill difficult work which you enjoy the process of doing will always result in good outcomes. Process orientation is key. It's not so much about a goal for the end result as it is a goal to be process oriented. Which we can all strive for with any side creative venture.

There are hundreds of Hollywood big production stories where the lead actor and director we're fighting constantly and hated each other by week 3 of a 6 month shoot. Klaus Kinski and Werner Herzog while making the 1982 film "Fitzcarraldo" come to mind. Extremely difficult to work with and heavily mentally unbalanced actor meltdown here. Funny how the end product was compromised as a result. It's the same story with dealing with mercurial movie studio executives, egomaniac directors, reactionary Producers, and the list goes... So the moral of the story take and away from all this is choose who you spend your time with in life and in collaborating with very carefully.

Filmed over three years and five continents, Transmutation explores mystical revelation amid the obstacles of mainstream culture. Sharing personal stories of individuals who have gone through profound life changes which have altered them for the better.

This feature documentary film explores the rarely-seen intimacies of deeply individualistic mystical experiences of everyday reality. A roving philosopher guides us through the striking forests, coastlines, deserts, and cities of the world, inviting us to embrace the intense mystery of our own existence. Is direct personal encounter with divinity a real thing? What secrets are buried in nature’s deep places? Why has mainstream culture sought to eradicate the awakened human? Is normality really our friend?
